Belfast was recently announced as the top contender for popular UK arcade bar group NQ64’s plan to expand its chain of gaming bars further across the UK region.
NQ64 currently operate nine gaming bars across the UK, which have all proven to be quite popular with the public.
The popular UK arcade bar group recently secured an investment of £2.5 (approx €3) million. They plan on using this in their attempts to expand to more cities, with Belfast said to be top of that list.
NQ64 received £2.5 million in growth capital from alternative lender ThinCats to accelerate their plan of expanding to 11 cities.
NQ64 operates nine gaming bars across the UK. It is quite a new business, founded by Andy Haygarth and Matt Robson in 2019.
The bars that NQ64 runs operate with a retro gaming bar concept. They are filled with brilliant arcade games and classic consoles adorning the establishments throughout.
As they are bars, they also serve an excellent range of specially selected craft beers, sodas and themed cocktails.
The franchise first started in Manchester’s Northern Quarter and since then has thrived as they opened nine additional locations across the UK.
NQ64, which Imbiba backs, aims to bring their gaming bar to Belfast. Other potential cities include Birmingham, Leeds, Bath, Bristol, Reading, Nottingham, Sheffield, Brighton, London and Aberdeen.
These arcade bars offer a unique drinking experience. Co-founder Andy Haygarth said, “We have had a great team that has enabled us to open the first nine NQ64s in a relatively short time. We are really excited about the next phase of growth.
“With the backing of Imbiba and our new partnership with ThinCats, we are looking forward to bringing our neon-splattered drinking dens to a host of new guests. We generally now invest between £500,000 and £1m into the build of a new site.”
NQ64 has mastered the art of offering the perfect combination of exhilarating gaming experiences and delightful craft beers to enjoy.
With Belfast looking certain to be the next venue of choice for the newest NQ64 gaming bar, it is expected that this move will not only be beneficial for Belfast, Northern Ireland, and its people, but it will also be another successful addition to the NQ64 franchise.
Regarding NQ64, the future is looking bright for them as they are set to continue expanding in the coming years.
The company keeps growing from strength to strength at a rapid pace since their foundation in 2019.
