The Oscars 2023 are eight months away, which means predictions and whispers of nominees are starting to roll in.
It is always one of the most highly anticipated events that sees the most famous of the famous flock to it each year.
Predictions are rumbling throughout movie circuits, and according to BOLAVIP, The Banshees of Inisherin is a strong contender for three Oscars nominations.
The Banshees of Inisherin is the latest film by British-Irish playwright and director Martin McDonagh. It was clear from first-look pictures and clips that the film would be a hit.
The film sees In Bruges stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson reunite. The story follows two lifelong friends at a stalemate when one suddenly decides to end the relationship. As a result, this leads to alarming consequences.
Director Martin McDonagh told Vanity Fair in his first interview about the movie set in native Ireland, “I wanted it to be as beautiful as possible. To aim for beauty and for cinema.”
The Oscars are always full of glamour and excitement. Who could forget last year’s scuffle with Will Smith and Chris Rock?
Although the awards are eight months away, this is prime time for predictions to start flooding in.
BOLAVIP predicts that The Banshees of Inisherin could be in the running for three Oscars nominations in the 2023 awards.
These predictions include the award for Best Picture, Brendan Gleeson nabbing a nomination for Best Supporting Actor, and Martin McDonagh for Best Adapted Screenplay.
The lead-up to the Oscars is always an exciting time as the predictions roll in. Aside from The Banshees of Inisherin, other Irish class acts are included in films that are predicted to receive Oscars 2023 nominations.
From the direction of Claire Foy, Women Talking boasts a star-studded cast including Jessie Buckley and Rooney Mara. The film could be en route to taking home a few Oscars next year.
Irish actress Jessie Buckley is predicted to be nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Award. Other movies that could be up for nominations include Everything Everywhere All at Once, Elvis, Triangle of Sadness, The Son, and many more.
So, will you be watching The Banshees of Inisherin when it releases in cinemas? With its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival impending on 4 September, it is scheduled to be released for public consumption on 21 October 2022 in theatres.
